I’ve been working with WordPress for over two years and am learning something new everyday. I currently work as a freelance Front-End Developer / WordPress Consultant in Columbus, OH. Many of my projects revolve around responsive web design and WordPress but I also have a good foundation in PHP and XHTML. I had the pleasure this year of speaking at both WordCamp Columbus and WordCamp Baltimore on “Responsible Responsiveness.”
This is my second portfolio and uses the wonderful technology of media queries. Go ahead, I’ll wait while you resize your browser. Other tools used include flexslider.js, fitvid.js, respond.js (for media-query handling in legacy browsers) and some handy WordPress snippets.
Freelancing and the responsibilities that come with it hit me pretty hard in the face. Contracts, client communications and pricing were the things I had the most trouble with, but over time I’ve managed to find my place in the bustling web world. The blog section of my portfolio is intended to be a resource for freelancers just starting to spread their wings with tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way.
